PLANT LOCATION
The “Livestock Slaughtering, Meat and Meat Products Processing Plant”, the project which will be implemented by the “Khiimori Sukhbaatar Meat Impex” LLC, will be located in the #105, 103, 101 of Khailaast Uuden-1 Street, 8th Bag, Baruun-Urt Soum, Sukhbaatar Province, with a total area of 15,000 m2.
PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY
In terms of geographical location, the Plant will be located in the area, included in the Eastern Region of Mongolia, 78.3% of the total area is included in the steppe zone and 21.7% is in the Gobi zone. This area is located in the Gobi steppe zone and occupies a vast territory of 8228.7 thousand square kilometers. The average height of the Province’s territory is elevated in 800-1200 meters above sea level, the highest point is the Mountain Shiliin Bogd, which is located in 1778 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is the cavity around Baishint area, located in the territory of Khongor Soum in 790 meters above sea level. The most territory of the Sukhbaatar Province is included in the steppe zone by its ground surface. According to the landscape sub-divisions, most of the area belongs to the Great Steppe Zone, but the partial deserts and desert great zone of Central Asia are located in the eastern area of the Province. In the northern part of the Province, there are mountain steppe landscapes at the level of medium and low mountains, steppes and dry steppe landscapes occupy in the middle area and desert steppe landscapes mostly occupy in the southeastern area of the Province. The Project site is located in the Baruun-Urt Soum of the Sukhbaatar Province and at an absolute height of 930-966 meters of above sea level and the surface of the site is relatively smooth and has a slope of 0-1.5 degree.
CLIMATE
The territory of the Baruun-Urt Soum is belonged to the dry warm climate zone. The average relative humidity is 45-65% in the warm season of the year, due to less moisture that is evaporated from the dry soil to air. By multi-year average statistics, in the area of the Soum falls about 200.6 mm of rainfall, but this is significantly reduced to 101.5-111.5 mm in the drought years. The minimum precipitation is 1.5-10.5 mm in the cold season from January to March and from October to December and is 4.9-56.7 mm in the warm season from April to September. The average wind speed in the Baruun-Urt City area is 2.7-4.6 m/s. As seen from wind mode, the wind speed increases in the spring and fall season and decreases in the summer and winter season. Prevailing wind speed is 37.1% from North-West, 17.8% from West and 14.5% from North-East region. Winds with over 40 m/s, which are extremely dangerous weather phenomena, are observed in the spring season in April and May, but it occupies only 2% of all strong winds. However, in March and April, strong winds with above 16 m/s are observed on 15-23 days, which means that the area of the Soum is included to the region with strong winds. The average air temperature in the cold season is 2.1-21.3°C, and the lowest temperature 25.9-32.5°C occurs in the Baruun-Urt Soum in January and February.
